Discovered this track by Young Crenshaw that was made to the beat “In The Game” produced by Heartbeatz and myself.
Working with Kydd Jones
I got to know Kydd Jones through talented producer @heartbeatz when he put me on one of his songs as a co-producer.
After getting in conversation with Kydd we immediately started working on a couple of tracks.
Watch out for his next album called GR33D.
Working with Z Rich
I met Z Rich, an artist from Atlanta, when I was at Istandards’ Beast Of The Beats in Atlanta, December 2015.
We’ve been working since march this year and got some really good songs on the way.
Z Rich is a talented artist, has an incredible flow and content in his lyrics.
[Winner’s Circle] Capital P. – Istandard Interview
How’s it going Capital P. ?
I’m doing good…a lot of work right now.
First off, I want to congratulate you on winning our recent online producer showcase. Let the people know where you are from and what you do.
I appreciate it. I was born and raised in Ratisbon but do now live in Munich, both Germany.
I study Audio Engineering and compose/produce music.
Let’s start with your background. When did you get started as a music producer and at what point did you realize that you wanted to pursue this is a career?
When I was a kid I played saxophone, guitar and drums so I always had something for music. I started producing around January 2014 and since July 2014 I really put in hard work and try to gain as much knowledge as possible and all that comes with producing. I really thought about this to be my career when I started studying in April.
Was this the first time that you had showcased your beats and how did you feel about the feedback you received from the judges?
This was actually the first time. The overall feedback was good and informative and it came from producers that really have worked with big names and work in this industry so shout outs for that.
Seeing as you came in first place and impressed everyone with your music, what advice would you give a producer who is looking to enter one of our showcases?
A really important thing is to switch up your beats to keep it interesting.
It’s a showcase so you’ve got to show them your versatility and the best you’ve got.
Work with samples and add organic/live instruments or synths to compliment it if necessary. Try to create something new that’s next level or keep it classy but it got to be on point then.
Also important are the drums like snare fills or breaks and percussive elements.
Who are some of your music influences, both past and present?
My main influences are DJ Pain 1, Trakksounds and Black Metaphor.
Dj Pain 1 and Trakksounds are crazy with live instrumentation and the melodic part of their work. Black Metaphor is a beast when it comes to sampling. All their tracks are on point.
How would you describe your sound as a producer?
I really can’t describe my sound its just like I produce it but if I have to say it I’d go for soulful with hard drums.
When it comes to the software and tools that you like to use in the studio, what are some of your go to pieces of equipment?
I use Ableton for the production of my tracks.
Congratulations again on winning our online producer showcase. Please let everyone know what your social media is, what projects you’re currently working on as well as any last shout outs that you want to give.
Right now I try to work as much as possible and build relationships to artists but for the moment I teamed up with Chaos Da Realyst from Brooklyn for his upcoming album, with Delorean from Houston and I got a couple of tracks to Franc Grams and some other artists.
